About connie
Constance Louise Church was born on March 25, 1931 and passed on February 3, 2021 just shy of her 90th birthday. Connie was born to Joseph and Nellie Jones the in Cranston Rhode Island she was the oldest of 10 children. She lived in Rhode Island until she moved to California at the age of 20 where she Met her husband Kenneth Church and eventually had 6 children together. Connie held her first job in California as a riveter for North American Airlines. During her employment there Connie had to cross the picket lines to go to work. Eventioaly Connie and Kenneth went on to buy a catering business called Rivera Catering where they ran a fleet of catering trucks house and trucks for many years until Kenneth’s unexpected death in 1968 at the young age of 36 .
Connie was left to raise six children on her own. She eventually sold the business and went on to nursing school and went to work for Dr. Hardy her children’s pediatrician. From from there she became a surgical assistant to plastic surgeons Dr. Steen and Dr. Rosenfield. I her next career move Connie become an assistant to Charlene Steen in her law practice, then moved the firm Tooy Torson. From there Connie took job with the city of Torrance in the personel division then move to become an office manager for State Farm Insurance Agency where she worked until she returned in 1999.
Once retired Connie moved to Texas to help her daughter in raising her three grandchildren.
Through out Connie’s career she never met a stranger and formed deep long lasting relationships with her bosses, her co worked and her clients. she was a caring giving loving person and others were attracted to her energy.
Connie was known for her incredible hosting a parties every Fourth of July Super Bowl, Thanksgiving and Christmas everyone gathered at her home. everyone always welcome.
Connie was also very creative she love to sew and Craft and many people were lucky enough to enjoy a gift she made. whatever Connie did she did well!
Connie was a grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren she was a grandma who love to teach them thing like cooking and sewing. She just love to spend time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends, her her best friend Leora and her watched the Oscars every year together from 1968 to 2000.
Connie was a loving sister, Mother, aunt, friend, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She lived long purposeful and will truly be missed
